Getting to the Old City from our hotel was an easy 30-minute walk, downhill, along a narrow street lined with shops and several official embassies, then across the Charles Bridge. Getting back was an uphill trek and took a little longer. Days are short at this time of the year in this east-central part of Europe, and the overcast skies contributed to the dim light; dusk began settling around 4:00 or 4:30 p.m.

Absinthe Goulash Prague street
A shop window full of eyecatching, bright green absinthe, in bottles of many sizes. Marguerite starting her exploration of Central European cuisine with a plate of goulash. Buildings of many colors, side by side by side by side...
Charles Bridge National Cemetary Inside Terezin
Charles Bridge is lined with statues of saints and patron saints. The National Memorial at Terezin, with individual and mass graves. The sadistic commander of the prison at Terezin copied the infamous "Work makes you free" slogan from Auschwitz.

Interesting sculpture in the

View of the Old Town from the Charles Bridge at dusk. Beautiful building, a venue for musical concerts. No coin slots or numbers, so they aren't parking meters....
