Tuesday, December 25, 2007: fly to Israel
We left Minneapolis on a 7:00 a.m. flight, spent several hours going through El Al security in Newark, and then had an approximately 11-hour flight from there to Tel Aviv.
Wednesday, December 26
Morning, arrived at Ben Gurion airport about 6:30 a.m. Tel Aviv time, got through customs with no delays, and were met by our guide for the week, Shari, and a representative of our tour company. They led us out to the passenger loading area, where we discovered we had a too-small bus waiting for us. The tour company representative promised to get us a new bus, and waited at the airport with much of our luggage while we continued on with our activities: a visit to the Museum of the Diaspora.
Lunch in museum cafeteria. Had a bigger bus waiting for us when we left, thank goodness!
Afternoon, walked along the beach in Tel Aviv, made a brief visit to Old Jaffa, then drove up to Jerusalem.
Dinner at Prima Kings Hotel, our home base for all of our overnight stays in Jerusalem.
